Lextech Labs is pleased to announce that our award-winning mobile surveillance app, iRa Pro, will be demonstrated in 8 booths at the International Security Conference and Expo (ISC West) next week in Las Vegas, NV.
You can visit any of the booths below to view iRa Pro in action.
Alex Bratton, Lextech Labs President & CEO, appears as an industry expert in the Apple Seminar, Mac for Video Security: Protect people, assets, and critical infrastructure while decreasing security costs.
The Apple Seminar website describes the video as follows:
The proprietary and expensive analog video security solutions of the past are rapidly giving way to a new paradigm. Today, forward-thinking security experts are embracing open, IP-based security systems that integrate seamlessly with their organization’s existing IT infrastructure. These new solutions empower video security professionals to do their jobs faster, easier, and more cost-effectively—whether in the control center or the field.
Lisle, IL, October 21st — Lextech Labs today introduced iRa, the first mobile high-end surveillance application released by the new company this year. iRa is a remote surveillance viewing and control system that puts the power of multiple live video feeds and direct camera pan-tilt-zoom control in the palm of your hand on an iPhone or iPod Touch. The application can be downloaded on the App Store. Interested parties should visit the Lextech Labs website (www.lextechlabs.com/ira) for detailed buying information.
iRa’s intuitive interface lets users access multiple video feeds (from their own security cameras) over WiFi. The capabilities to view videos full screen, physically move cameras, and zoom with a single touch (from an iPod Touch or iPhone) work together seamlessly to create situational awareness.
Selected from a pool of more than 40 applications, iRa earned the “Coolest iPhone App” award at iPhoneDevCamp2 in San Francisco, CA back in August and has continued to generate interest among the security community worldwide, even before its official release today.
Something very obvious at the ASIS show this year was that technologies normally targeted at the consumer are making their way into the security space. Improvements in compression and video resolution that consumers demanded are now available for other industries to adopt. IP video, multi-megapixel cameras and H.264 compression were evident everywhere as companies scrambled to keep up with advances and position them for the security market. Each of those technologies really started focused on the consumer and until recently had not been available on a broad scale for security applications.
Speaking as part of a panel on future technology trends for security Fredrik Nilsson from Axis Communications summed it up very simply with “Consumers are driving high tech and we can piggy back on that” — while proudly showing his iPhone.
Of course the next wave of consumer tech that we’re expecting to enter the physical security market in a big way is mobile surveillance and situational awareness, starting with video applications like our iRa iPhone app. We’re looking forward to empowering physical security teams as part of these new solutions.
As part of our integrated demo system with Quickset International at the ASIS show last week, Lextech Labs demonstrated iRa controlling one of their MSS mobile surveillance platforms that included advanced daytime, IR and radar capabilities.
Christopher Rick writes of iRa in his post, “Lextech Labs is expanding what you can do on the iPhone or iPod Touch into the security realm with its new iRa high-end surveillance application. iRa allows you to view and control remote surveillance systems and even allows you to view multiple video feeds simultaneously.” Read the rest of tihs article at http://www.newcooltech.com/feature/remote-surveillance-control-your-iphone.
Lisle, IL, August 6th — Lextech Labs’ iRa earned the “Coolest iPhone App” award at iPhoneDevCamp 2 in San Francisco, CA on Sunday. The mobile surveillance application was selected from a pool of more than 40 applications submitted during the two day event.
During the application demo, Lextech engineers displayed multiple live video streams on the iPhone from locations across the United States. They also demonstrated the remote, touch-based pan, tilt, and zoom camera controls to the 300+ developers in attendance.
“There was spontaneous awe in the room when Alex demonstrated iRa, the remote camera control application for iPhone,” said Dominic Sagolla, iPhoneDevCamp Co-Founder. “We thought it would be very hard to judge the ‘Coolest App’ category, but Lextech pretty much nailed that one.”
Three Lextech team members, including CEO Alex Bratton, flew to the San Francisco gathering and three attended the satellite location in Chicago. Lextech also donated technical expertise and equipment to the event by providing a backup live video broadcast.
Andrew Mager of The Web Life writes about iRa in his article “Top 5 apps from iPhone Dev Camp 2″ (video inside)
“iRa – Phone geeks watched in awe as Alex Bratton from Lextech Labs controlled 12 security cameras in Illinois with an iPhone in San Francisco. You can zoom in and zoom out with regular iPhone gestures.” Read the full article here.
