adduser

Now that we have some users, lets add some devices. For this example, we’ll go through the “bulk import” process. Click on “Devices” at the top, then in the “Bulk Import Options” box, click the link for the system you are running. Currently we support Milestone and ONSSI vms systems. Please view our  guide lines for Milestone & Onssi vms systems.

bulkadd

If you’re not using a Milestone or ONSSI system and intend to add individual devices, please choose accordingly and refer to the following documents to instructions: Adding Axis Devices. Adding Generic MJPEG Devices.

Enter the address of your Milestone server, port number and login information. Then click on “Fetch Cameras”. You will see a list of all your Milestone based cameras. You can select individual cameras from the list by checking the box to the left of the camera name or click the “Select All Cameras” button at the bottom. The “PTZ” check box on the right is automatically checked if the camera being imported has pan-tilt-zoom capability. If you’d like to disable PTZ support for a particular camera, uncheck it. Finally click the “Import Selected Cameras” button to complete the import.

bulkimport

The next step is to assign your imported cameras into individual device groups. Click “Device Group” then the “Add Device Group” button.

devicegroup

Enter a group name, and select which cameras you want in this group by dragging them individually from the “Devices” box to the “Selected Devices”. Click the “Save” button at the button when finished.

AddGroup

Now that you’ve created a Device Group, we need to create a User Group to assign to it. Click on “User Groups” at the top then click the “Add User Group” button.

Enter the name of the group you’d like to create and drag the users you want in the group from the “Users” box on the left to the “Selected Users” box on the right. Below, you can also assign this new User Group to a Device Group, again by dragging the group from left to right. The “Accessible Devices” box will populate automatically once this association is created. Click the “Save” button when finished.
